Teaching

My training in New York with Kathryn Armour, Bill Schuman, and Badiene Magaziner led me to discover that I had a huge operatic instrument that needed some specific and extra navigation. I experienced a dramatic change in my voice in my early 30's that led me to discover so much about the voice and singing, and when the pandemic hit and I came back to the Bay Area, I turned to teaching as a way to share my love of developing the voice. My specialty is helping big voices sing in versatile styles. I help operatic voices sing jazz, pop, and musical theater and teach folks to understand how to use the voice as a mechanism with flexibility. It’s possible to sing multiple styles and to cross over if that's where your musical journey is. I love working with kids to support their love of singing and offer audition prep work and performance coaching. I believe in creating a space of creativity, inclusivity, and opportunity, where all goals matter and all levels are welcome. Come discover what your voice can do, geek out about musical theater with me, or get your first cabaret show or artistic offering on its feet. I can tell you about how to pursue entertainment endeavors, and help you find local auditions right here in the Bay Area. We can craft your resume, get ready for your school talent show, or explore the fundamentals of recording and songwriting.
